My name is Johnie—yep, like the guy’s name. A few years ago I decided to ditch the 9-to-5 grind in favor of open roads, spontaneous travel and coffices (that’s coffee shop offices). Since then I've been on a continuous adventure that's taken me from 14ers in Colorado to free rappels in Moab to waves in Puerto Rico to living out of a Sprinter for months at a time—I built Dirtbag Darling to share those stories and inspire more women to spend their time outdoors pursuing the things that keep them sweaty, dirty and smiling. So what is a Dirtbag Darling? We're all ages and from all places. We're the newbies and the professionals. We’re the ones telling stories around the campfire and waking up early to surf. We're the ones wearing Athleta to the climbing gym and the ones duct taping our dad's hand-me-down jackets back together. We climb, surf, hike, paddle, bike and ski. We drink our beer warm and our coffee black. We do yoga in the backyard and bum showers from the public beach (or skip them when we have to). We can house a basket of hot wings and don’t mind Ramen for dinner. We're the ones with dirty feet, salty hair, goggle tans, borrowed surfboards, threadbare backpacks and great stories. We're the ones always looking for that next adventure.
